Sudan

Sudan, officially the Republic of the Sudan, is a country in Northeast Africa. Sudan has a population of 44.91 million people as of 2021 and occupies 1,886,068 square kilometres (728,215 square miles), making it Africa’s third largest country.

Sudan used to have many elephants but have largely gone extinct in that country. Sudan is potentially being recognised as a ‘range state’, and is able to engage in continental level debates on the future of elephants.
